Do business with the Mina!

The Mystery of the Minas Revealed

The mission of Jesus was to seek and save the lost, symbolized through the parable of the Minas (the Pound). Jesus’ journey to Jericho illustrates the importance of divine guidance in seeking those searching for God.

The Parable of the Minas

Jesus imparted a mission to His servants, signified by the Minas they received. The Mina symbolizes salvation, given to all Christians to share the gospel. Each servant has the responsibility to multiply what they have been given while awaiting Jesus’ return. The parable stresses faithfulness in sharing the gospel as the measure of success.

What is our responsibility

A call to evaluate personal and church involvement in evangelism: Are we actively sharing the message? The consequences of neglecting this mission are significant: unfaithful servants who do nothing with their Minas face severe judgment. We need to encourage each other to consider how each believer can better engage in sharing the Gospel moving forward.

What does the parable of the ten Minas means? Another word for Mina is Pound, and they symbolize the Salvation or the Gospel. What should we do with the Mina as written in Luke 19? Jesus said, “Do business with the Mina!” So who should give out the Mina – the Salvation, the Gospel! It’s not only the evangelist’s job. It’s the whole church. It’s those who are faithful servants. They will get their reward in Heaven as an example of being granted to govern cities. The unfaithful servant will receive nothing and his Mina will be taken away.

This is a presentation by Jacob Bock from OnTheRedBox. God revealed to him the mystery of the Mina in Luke 19:11-27, which is not the same as the Talents in Matthew 25:14-30. You can buy his book “Do Business With the Mina – Understand the one job Jesus gave you to do” at Mina Business

From the video of Jacob Bock and his presentation “Do business with the Mina”. Recorded in Sweden, May 2026 : “So I want to reveal a mystery to you tonight.  And it is a mystery. The kingdom, the kingdom of God is invisible. And for you to understand it, you have to see it. See It. Watch it. Then you’ll understand it. It’s a mystery revealed. So Holy Spirit, reveal the mystery of the Minas tonight. May we understand our Mission. Give us eyes to see, ears to hear, a heart to understand. And a will to obey. In Jesus name. Amen.”

Jesus comes Zacchaeus house Luke 19:1-10 NKJV
1 Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
2 Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.
3 And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature.
4 So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way.
5 And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”
6 So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully.
7 But when they saw it, they all complained, saying, “He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.”
8 Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.”
9 And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham;
10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Parable of the Ten Minas (Mina=Pound) Luke 19:11-27
11 Now as they heard these things, He spoke another parable, because He was near Jerusalem and because they thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately.
12 Therefore He said: “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. 13 So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Do business till I come.’
14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We will not have this man to reign over us.’
15 “And so it was that when he returned, having received the kingdom, he then commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
16 Then came the first, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned ten minas.’
17 And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’
18 And the second came, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned five minas.’
19 Likewise he said to him, ‘You also be over five cities.’
20 “Then another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I have kept put away in a handkerchief.
21 For I feared you, because you are an austere man. You collect what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’
22 And he said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, collecting what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow.
23 Why then did you not put my money in the bank, that at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’
24 “And he said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina from him, and give it to him who has ten minas.’
25 (But they said to him, ‘Master, he has ten minas.’)
26 ‘For I say to you, that to everyone who has will be given; and from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.
27 But bring here those enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, and slay them before me.’ ”

Continuation: “We’re going to go to Luke chapter 19. I have this message in book format. The Holy Spirit revealed the mystery of the Minas to me six years ago. Right in the middle of quarantine during COVID. I read it. I go, oh yeah, like the parable of the talents. And then the next day I read chapter 20. And the Holy Spirit says, go back and read the Minas. So I read it again. He says, it’s not the talents. So I looked at it again. Anyway. For many weeks. And I go, what does that mean? It took me several months to discover the mystery.

So let’s look at it together. And if you see this, as the Holy Spirit reveals this truth to you, it’ll change your life literally. And it will change your team, your evangelism team’s life. And if the Swedish and Norwegian church get a hold of this mystery, it will shake up our nation. I’m not exaggerating. So let’s look at it.

Where is Jesus? He’s one week from being slaughtered on the cross. He’s on his way down to Jerusalem. He’s going to be crucified. He’s going to open up the door of Heaven. He’s going to pay for our sins. He’s going to rise from the dead. So what does he do? He walks by a city on his right hand side called Jericho. Now the Holy Spirit directs Him to go into Jericho. Because Jesus only did what the Holy Spirit told him to do. He only said what he heard the Father say. So if he goes into Jericho, it’s because he was led by the Spirit. I can hear the conversation. His servants that were following him.

Why are we stopping here? He says, because I’m searching for someone. Who? I’m not sure yet. But when I see the person, I’ll know. And so they’re walking through the streets of Jericho. And suddenly he looks up into a tree. And who does he see? Zacchaeus. I was looking for you. And Zacchaeus was like, way up, I was looking for you. That’s why I’m up in the tree. Well, who was looking for whom? And so they have this encounter. I’m just wondering how many people in your town are searching for God. They’re not telling anybody. But they’re searching. They’re Lutheran. But they’re searching. They’re not satisfied with religion.

So I met a guy in the street the other day. His name is Manolo. Truck driver. We had preached the message on the box (in Madrid). And he stood from here to there (25 meters). And I offered a gospel of John. He walked away. Ten minutes later he walks back. He said: – You have one of those books you were given away for free? I said, oh yeah, the Gospel of Luke. Here it is. He said thank you. I said, no, wait, wait, wait. Tell me, so how’s your journey at finding God? He said, I don’t know. I don’t know if I believe in God. So we had this very good conversation. And then he said, well, I’m going to confess something to you. He said, I live in southern Spain. And I come up to Madrid all the time. And I stopped at a small town. And I saw a Catholic church. The door was open, but there was nobody there. That’s normal for a Catholic church. It was dark and quiet. He said, I sat down in the church. And I looked up towards heaven. And I said, Dios, no se refa. Pero si… Well, he was praying in Spanish. He said, God, I don’t know how to pray. But if you exist, I want to know you. I want you to reveal yourself to me. And then he got up and left. How many people in our country are saying a prayer like that?

They walk into dead churches. They’re walking through the forest. God, if you really exist. But who will they find to talk to them? Who was searching for whom? And so Zacchaeus goes and Jesus goes to Zacchaeus’ house and you know the story. That’s an encounter with the Son of God. And now our story is about to begin. And Jesus stands up and says, surely salvation has come into this house. For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save those who are lost. What was Jesus’ mission? Why did he go to Jericho? Why was he going to Jerusalem? Why did he come to earth? To seek and save the lost.

Thank you Jesus! Thank you Jesus. Yes. He came to save you. And then he stands in the door of Zacchaeus’ house. And it was as though Jesus was running a relay race. And it was as though he was saying, as the Father sent me, now I send you. Next week, I’m finishing the race. I’ll say it is finished. But your race is just beginning.

And at Zacchaeus’ house, he passes us the baton of his mission to seek and save the lost. And we grab a hold of that mission. And we continue to run. And Peter grabbed a hold of the baton. And he passed it on to the next generation. And they passed it on to the next generation. And suddenly you got it. Salvation. Now you have a mission. And in your evangelism teams.

One reason why I came today. I don’t want us to drop the baton. I don’t want our Christian church in our countries to drop the baton. Because if you drop it, you know what happens. You’re disqualified. Are you running? Are you seeking and saving the lost? Is your church running? Are they seeking and saving the lost? You say, yeah, but maybe that’s just for the evangelists. So then, the mystery of the Mina. As he was saying these things, he proceeded to tell a parable, verse 11. And because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that the kingdom of God would appear immediately.

The word, well, and he said to them, verse 12, a nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and then return. So when you read the Bible, stop and ask questions. Okay, who’s the nobleman? Anybody know the nobleman? We’ve got two answers so far. Who’s the nobleman? Oh. That’s right. It would be God. Let’s just call him God. It was Jesus. I think he was the nobleman. Jesus was the nobleman. And it says that he went into a far country. What does that mean? So he went into a far country. Where’s the far country? He ran out. So some people say he went into a far country, he was in heaven, and he came down to the far country earth. Or when he raised from the dead, he went into a far country called Heaven. Either one is fine with me. Where is Jesus today? He’s heaven, right? Let’s call that the far country. Why did he go there? He die and a week later he ascended and he went into a far country? Why did he do that?

It says it right in the verse. To receive a kingdom. So Jesus says, I am the king. I’m going to go back to the far country. And while I’m there, I’m going to receive my kingdom. And every kingdom has servants. So how many servants did Jesus have when he ascended? Like four, I mean like twelve, like a handful. He didn’t have very many. Yeah, maybe he had eleven. And so it says, he went into a far country to receive a kingdom. And I’m thinking, well, why didn’t you just stay here? You’re the king. Stay here and get your kingdom.

But he left. So the question is, has he received his Kingdom? You have to answer that question. The answer is right in the verse. Well, he was crowned king. What did you say? Not fully? Not fully. Excellent answer. He’s received some of his Kingdom. But I know he hasn’t received his full Kingdom yet. There are still people that need to repent and come into the Kingdom of God. And I know that beyond a shadow of a doubt. Why? He said once he received it, he would return.

And Jesus hasn’t returned yet. That means there are still people that need to come into the Kingdom. And guess what? When he receives his Kingdom, he’ll come back. When will he come back? Hmm.

Then it says, calling ten of his servants, he gave them ten pounds and said to them, engage in business until I come. Get ready for the mystery. He called ten what? He didn’t call ten evangelists he didn’t call ten apostles he called ten servants so how many are serving Jesus? How many people in the church are serving Jesus? Anybody that’s born again and has repented of their sins is a servant.

And he says he called his ten servants and he gave them ten Minas. And he says, I’m giving you a Mina and I’m giving you one job to do. Do business with the Mina or the pound until I come back.

So what’s a Mina? That’s where I got stuck. I didn’t know what a Mina was. I looked at this verse and I said, Jesus gave me a job to do. And that job is until he comes back. And he’s not come back. I’m not dead. I’ve got a job to do. I’ve got to multiply the Mina, do business with the Mina. But I don’t know what the pound is. So how am I supposed to do the business if I don’t know what the pound is?

Now literally, a pound is what I have in this napkin. Feel that. Oh, why did you respond that way? Why you, oh. It’s heavy. Yeah, you know how much it weighs? Half a kilo. It’s a pound. In America, it would be a pound. 500 grams. Of silver. I bought this. Five years ago for 500 euros. Know how much it’s worth today? Silver. Now it’s 1,500. It’s valuable.

And he (Jesus) says to you, take this mina, and go do business with it. Until I come back. And when I come back, the first thing I’m going to do, I’m calling you as my servant. And you’re going to tell me what that Mina has gained. So I go, so what does the Mina represent? Any idea? Okay, let me tell you it’s not a talent. Almost all commentaries say this is the same as the talents. Now, maybe he gave you five talents. You know how much one talent is? Sixty pounds.

So he gives you five talents. He gives you two. And he gives you one. Why did he give them different amounts? According to their ability. So some of you have more ability than others. But when he gave the Mina away. He gave the same exact thing to everybody. You have two talents. Well, then take the Mina and do business with it. Oh, you have one talent? Take the Mina and do business with it. Oh, you have five talents? That’s a lot, brother. That’s a lot. Like 300 kilos of silver. Take the Mina and do business with your talents. So what’s the Mina? Our salvation. Soul saved. Our salvation.

So here’s an interesting thing. We’re all servants. We’re all preaching the gospel. We just read the parable. But we’re really not sure what the Mina is. Let’s discover.

Jesus is standing on the Mount of Ascension and he’s ready to go up to the far country. And he looks at his disciples, his servants. Remember what I told you a few weeks ago? Okay, I’m going to say it again. All power has been given unto me in heaven and earth. Now therefore, as you go. Let’s talk about the Great Commission. Mark chapter 16. Matthew chapter 28. What’s the Great Commission? I mean, you guys should know, like, more than anybody. What? Go out into the world and preach the gospel. Go into all the world and preach the gospel. Mark says that. Matthew says, go into all the world and make disciples. Okay. What’s the verb? What’s the action verb in “go into all the world and preach the gospel”? Is it Go?

No. So I was preaching (about) this in Greece where they speak Greek. And that’s what the New Testament was written in. I said, what’s the verb? And in unison, all the pastors said the same thing. The verb is Preach and Make disciples. It’s not go. The word go means as you go about life. As you go to the supermarket. As you go to your work. Share the gospel. Make disciples to those that get saved. So the great commission is, as you go, preach. So he says that, so let’s discover the Mina. I’m going up to a far country. And while I’m gone, as you go, into all the world, preach the gospel. Gospel. The Good news.

You were right. You heard the message already. Jesus said and this gospel will be preached in all the world and then the end will come. He hasn’t come back yet. Why? Because this gospel has not been preached yet so he’s given you talents and gifts and he’s giving you the gospel and he says now as you go about life, give away the Mina. Power of God unto salvation. He who believes will be saved. Power got into salvation. He who believes will be saved. But he who doesn’t believe will be condemned. It’s just your job to give away the silver. You just plant the seed. God will do the rest. Just give away the silver.

So most people will reject the Mina. But some people will accept it.

Okay, so let’s talk about one other kind of person in the world. Luke 19, verse 14. But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him saying, we don’t want this man to reign over us. There’s only two kinds of people in the world. Servants and citizens. So you’re either a servant or a citizen. You’re family members. They’re either a servant of Jesus or they’re a citizen of the world. Everybody in Scandinavia. There’s only two groups. Servants of Jesus and citizens. What’s the difference?

What’s the difference? A servant? “I bow my knee to the king. I surrender. Take my life and do what you will. Not my will, but yours be done”. They surrender to Jesus. That’s what you did. So you’re a servant. And he directs your life. But everybody else in Scandinavia; “Not your will, mine be done. Don’t tell me what to do. If I want to sleep with my girlfriend before marriage, I’m going to do it. I don’t want you to tell me what to do. I don’t want you to reign over my life.”

Servants and Citizens. Then what’s your job? Your job is to go out amongst the citizens and offer that salvation. That’s really not that big of a deal, is it? We make evangelism so difficult. You just went up to somebody and said, have you ever heard the gospel? No, I don’t believe. Are you sure? You don’t want to receive it? No. Okay. God bless you. Can I pray for you?

I asked two young people in the street the other day. I said, have you obeyed God? They said, no. So when you stand before God, would you be innocent or guilty? And he said, guilty. I said, well, what will God do with the guilty people on judgment day? He said, go to Hell. I said does that concern you? He said not anymore. I said why? He said because I refuse to think about it. I said, well, you’re thinking about it now, aren’t you? He said, I am. When’s your birthday? He said, November. Happy birthday. I said, when’s your death day? I don’t know. I said, you don’t have tomorrow guaranteed. I said, it should concern you. Your eternity is concerning me right now. And it really concerned Jesus. He came down from heaven and gave his life for you. So that you wouldn’t have to go to that place. You sure you don’t want the Mina? He said, no. I said, can I pray for you? No, no, no, we got to go. And he left.

Now if I give it to somebody and they accept it, it multiplies. He keeps it, I keep it. Gospel has power.

Okay, we better close up this message here. We’ve got a couple more things. Verse 15. When he returned, having received the kingdom, he ordered these servants to whom he had given the Mina or the pound to be called to him that he might know what they had gained. Okay, everybody knows. I’m telling you right now.

The very first thing that Jesus does when he comes back. He calls you. And he says, I want to know what you have produced with that pound. So now you know. You know what’s going to happen after you die. And so he gives us this judgment scene which is fascinating. And the first one came to him saying, You’re the first one. He said, Lord, your Mina has produced ten Minas more. Did you catch that? Your Mina. Not your efforts. Not your talents. The Mina produced ten more. This reproduces all by itself. But you have to give it away. It has to be received. And then it reproduces. Your Mina has produced ten more. And you know what Jesus says? Well done, good servant. How many want to hear well done? Me too. I really do. You have been faithful in a little. I said a little. Jesus isn’t asking you to save souls. He’s asking you to give away the gospel. He’ll save the souls. You’re just doing a little. He’s doing much. You do a little. We co-labor with Christ. Salvation is of God. He invites us to give away the silver.

And he gets a well done. Not because of how many people got saved in his ministry. Why did he hear well done? Mark it down. Faithful. Faithful. That’s what Jesus is looking for in your life. You will be rewarded according to your faithfulness at giving away the gospel. Discipling those people that come in. Praying. Supporting missions. Getting the gospel out if you’re faithful, it’ll reproduce and then it says I’m going to put you over ten cities.

Second one came to him saying, Lord, your Mina produced five more. Good job. That’s pretty good. I’m going to put you over five cities. You’ve been faithful. Ten minas, ten cities. Five Minas, five cities. How many are you going to get? You don’t know yet, do you? You still have time. The more you invest now, the more reward you’ll get later. Get a lot of the gospel out, and you’ll get more reward. We don’t know what you’re going to get yet. Another came to him saying, I’m sorry. somebody’s got to do it. Lord, here’s your Mina. Verse 20.

Yes, yes. Isn’t that sad? Here’s a guy that called himself a servant. He had one job to do. He takes the gospel message. And he hands it back to Jesus. Thanks, but no thanks. Look, I didn’t even use it. It’s brand new. You won’t even find my fingerprints on it. I wrapped it up. I heard it every Sunday. The pastor gave me the Mina every Sunday. And every Sunday I wrapped it up. And I went and put it away. I didn’t offer it to anybody. And Jesus is like, you what? What? Like he’s astonished. You had the power of God into salvation and you put it in a napkin? You had it.

The books of our Life are filled with sin. All you had to do was offer somebody a Mina. And had they accepted it, I would have erased all the sin out of their books. But you didn’t even, you didn’t even offer it to them. You know, people have been bit by the snake called the devil. Filled with venom and poison. And he had no antidote. There was no cure for their venom. And you had the cure in your hand. So that the people wouldn’t die. And you didn’t even offer him the cure. You’re wicked. You’re wicked. That’s what he called them. Why? Why did you wrap it up in a napkin? And you know what his answer was? I was afraid of you. You’re a severe man. Well, Jesus did not correct his theology. Is God severe?

Is he loving or is he severe? He’s both. He’s both. He didn’t correct his theology. He said, you know I’m a severe man. You know I’m a hard man. You see, we have the kindness of God and we have the severity of God. Kindness to those that believe. That accepts the Mina. And severity to those that do not accept the pound. Severity over sin. If you don’t believe God is severe, then look at the cross. The redirection of God’s wrath. God taking the lightning bolt for us. So they’re drinking the cup of wrath. So that you wouldn’t have to drink it. That’s severe. Yeah, I was severe. I’m surprised you didn’t do anything with it. Take it away from him. Just take it away from him. Give it to this guy here. He knows what to do. So I ask you today. With which servant do you most identify?

You say, I’m an evangelist. Well, then let’s talk about your team. Let’s talk about your church. How many servants are sitting in our churches every Sunday? That receives the gospel every Sunday. And they’re doing absolutely nothing with it. So they got one job to do. You say, I think I’m doing okay today. I don’t feel like I’m unfaithful. I’m doing something. Maybe you feel like, I think I might be able to do more. But what about 90% of our church? They have the same job you do. Yet they’re unfaithful. Or no. Why do you call me? He said, Lord, here is your Mina. Lord? You called me Lord. And yet you didn’t do the one job I asked you to do. Lord, Lord, with your lips, but not in your heart. This is a message for our church today. Imagine if everyone in your church understood that they have a business. How’s your business doing? Maybe every couple months you need to sit down with a business plan.

Well, from the beginning of the year up until today, this is what I did for the gospel. Now for the next couple months, this is what I would like to do and you focus your life on your business getting the gospel out, discipling new people and we look at our evangelism teams and there’s like three people on our evangelism team. Maybe not everybody is going to go to the street with us. But where are the evangelists that can teach them how to do a better business?

Okay, we got one more question. The parable talks about ten servants. And only three appeared before God. And now the story is almost over.

Did you read the last verse? It’s awful. You don’t think God is severe? Read verse 27. We’re not even going to read it out loud. I just want you to read it. And if you don’t have a Bible, look at the person next to you. And read verse 27. Right there is the severity of God. The citizens. The enemies. Stand before God and are killed. That loving God. Oh he was loving. Because he had Mina for them. And he gave his life for them.

For God so loved the world. He didn’t come into the world to condemn you. You’re already condemned. He came into the world so that he would be condemned. So that you wouldn’t have to be. So that the world might be saved. There were ten servants and then the story’s over. Where are the other seven? Any ideas? Well, I think they’re sitting right here in this little chapel. I think you’re one of the missing seven. Because you haven’t been judged yet. Three were, but the other seven haven’t been judged yet. So you still have time. I think you might be one of the seven. You’ve got a great business. And we’ve got to train our churches to be about the father’s business. Let me close with this thought. Jesus is 12 years old. He’s in the church. Why are you here? I’m on a mission. Father’s business. He knew his mission since he was 12 years old. And until how long was he on mission? Look at Jesus on the cross. In his last breath.

Lord remember me. I am wicked. You are holy. And Jesus looks over at the thief on the cross. There may be a nail in my hand. But there’s also a pound. Today you’ll be with me. So his dying breath, he was giving away salvation.

Jesus, forgive us for not being so faithful so many times. Make me a faithful servant. Thank you for the good news.
