The question which forms the title of this tract ought to stir up many thoughts in your heart. It concerns every man and woman born into the world. You ought never to rest till you can give it a satisfactory answer.—“WHERE ARE YOUR SINS?”

I ask you this day to look this question in the face. I ask you to give me your attention for a few minutes, while I try to enforce it on your conscience. A time draws nigh when the question must be answered. The hour cometh when all other questions shall seem like a drop of water in comparison with this. We shall not say, “Where is my money?”—or, “Where are my lands?”—or, “Where is my property?” Our only thought will be, “My sins! my sins!—Where are my sins?” Continue reading “Where are your sins – J C Ryle”

Matthew 17:24-27 (NKJV)
When they had come to Capernaum, those who received the [temple] tax came to Peter and said, “Does your Teacher not pay the [temple] tax?”
He said, “Yes.” And when he had come into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes, from their sons or from strangers?”
Peter said to Him, “From strangers.” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free.
“Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money; take that and give it to them for Me and you.”

The story from Matthew regarding the temple tax (beca) and the silver coin (stater) has a deeper Hebrew meaning. Continue reading “God is sufficient – His mercy covers you”

Exodus 34:6-7 (NKJV) And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing [the guilty,] visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”

We need to see the full depths of our sinfulness, before we seek wholeheartedly a SAVIOR.
If you think sin is only a willful choice to disobey and a transgression of the law – you will only ask for forgiveness of your sins!
Yes Jesus wants to forgive you for your sins – but Jesus also wants to deal with your selfishness and your rebellious heart, and give you a NEW HEART.

Jesus wants to cut off the roots to the bad fruits that you are producing.
That’s why you need to be born again, but that can only happen if you really want it – and know how to ask for it!

What is agenda settings?

Agenda-setting is the creation of public awareness and concern of certain issues by the news media. Agenda-setting describes the way how media attempts to influence viewers, and to establish a hierarchy of so called ”news” that are ”important”. News stories is not always something that grow on a tree which the mass media picks and serve. Often topics are created as news to serve what you should ”know, think, want, believe, feel and act upon.”

Two basic assumptions underlie most researches on agenda-setting:
– the press and the media do not reflect reality; they filter and shape it;
– media concentration on a few issues and subjects leads the public to perceive those issues as more important than other issues.

The extraordinary true story of conscientious objector, Desmond T Doss, is portraited in the Hollywood movie Hacksaw Ridge. This man was a Seventh Day Adventist (SDA, Christian), who saved 75 men in Okinawa, during the one of the bloodiest battle of WWII in the Pacific – without firing a single shot.
Believing that the war was just but killing was nevertheless wrong, he was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon. As an army medic Doss single-handedly evacuated the wounded near enemy lines – braving enemy fire and putting his own life on the line. He was the first conscientious objector to ever win the Congressional Medal of Honor.
Movie director: Mel Gibson.

Review: My personal opinion is first of all that this movie has too much of Hollywood effects. The war scenes are very long, over 1/4 of the movie. Continue reading “Watch Hacksaw Ridge – 2016 full movie review”
