There is no place called Hell!

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell (Gehenna is the Greek original word, not “Hell”).”
Matthew 10:28

The term ”Hell” in Matthew 28:10 is not a correct translation in the Bible.
Why is that? Are there evil forces in this world that have willfully led Bible readers into darkness, by translating incorrectly?
Is there an old myth of a place of torment in the underground where you pay forever and ever, for your debts/transgressions/sins?
And has Bible theologians incorporated this pagan belief of an burning place of tormenting, called Hell?

Well let’s look into the original scriptures in the Greek language.
This is what we found in the Blue Letter Bible:
“Hell is the place of the future punishment called “Gehenna” or “Gehenna of fire”.
This was originally the valley of Hinnom, south of Jerusalem, where the filth and dead animals of the city were cast out and burned; a fit symbol of the wicked and their future destruction.“

Gehenna is the correct name, not Hell.
This is according to the actual original Greek text of Matthew 28.

The Strong’s Definitions of the root word G1067 Geena: γέεννα géenna, gheh’-en-nah; of Hebrew origin (H1516 and H2011); valley of (the son of) Hinnom; ge-henna (or Ge-Hinnom), a valley of Jerusalem, used (figuratively) as a name for the place (or state) of everlasting punishment:—hell.

The meaning of the valley of Hinnom, Gehenna, is the eternal fire where Death, Sin and fallen angels/humans will be cast into for total destruction.
That will happen after the Judgement Day, and after Armageddon – and not right after anyone dies.
So when you die, and if you haven’t accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, you will not be cast into a place called Hell.
What will happen when you die, and if you have not accepted Jesus as Savior, is that you will fall into a deep sleep.
So everyone who is not found in Christ, will awake at the same time, for Judgement where they will experience shame, and when they will discover they will be sent to destruction in the Lake of Fire (Gehenna).

”And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.”
‭‭Daniel‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When reading Matthew 28:10, who warns us of destruction of both BODY & SOUL – any person grounded in the Bible – ought to understand that Jesus is referring to the Lake of Fire!

Hell as a place where God punish unrighteous people inside the the earth, with demons tormenting day and night, before Judgement Day – is not BIBLICAL verified.
In Swedish the word ”Häll” means place. The word ”Helvete” in Swedish means “a place where you pay your fines” (Häll + Vite, böter).
”Helvete” translates to Hell in english.

The torment for the unrighteous comes after the Judgement Day, at the Second Resurrection, where they all will face God at the very same time and their Books of Life will be revealed to them.

The word “Torment” in the NY has it origin from the concept of to go into or sink into.

And that’s what will happen to those ungodly, when they are put into the Lake of all consuming Fire – but first they will be judged on Judgement Day. Therefore there is no strong evidence of a burning inferno in the Earth, called Hell, where people will be sunk into, before Judgment.

If you do a word study of the word “torment” (sorrow), you find it’s related to the concept of being “sinked into” (such as a Lake of Fire) – rather than being tortured.

Note: The First Resurrection from the Dead happens when Jesus returns with His Angels. The Resurrected Ones are God’s people, His Saints. They will live forever.
The Second Resurrection from the Dead, the rest of them who has died, and now is sleeping, happens 1000 years after the First Resurrection. This group of people will face extermination.
