The extraordinary true story of conscientious objector, Desmond T Doss, is portraited in the Hollywood movie Hacksaw Ridge. This man was a Seventh Day Adventist (SDA, Christian), who saved 75 men in Okinawa, during the one of the bloodiest battle of WWII in the Pacific – without firing a single shot.
Believing that the war was just but killing was nevertheless wrong, he was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon. As an army medic Doss single-handedly evacuated the wounded near enemy lines – braving enemy fire and putting his own life on the line. He was the first conscientious objector to ever win the Congressional Medal of Honor.
Movie director: Mel Gibson.
Review: My personal opinion is first of all that this movie has too much of Hollywood effects. The war scenes are very long, over 1/4 of the movie.
Lots of violent graphic content with several vivid head shots, knife stabbing, burnt flesh and blown up body parts.
Three times it has sequences where you suddenly are almost “scared to death”; once when a car almost hit the main actor, second time when he has a nightmare on the battle field, and later when he suddenly see a dead Japanese in a tunnel. Why use cheap tricks to scare and traumatize people? I thought that only belonged to the 70’s horror movies like the Halloween series.
This is another typical American patriot Hollywood production – “Kill these mother fkers!!”.
Making me believe Mel Gibson is just another agent/fool under the Jesuit umbrella.
The Japanese soldiers are portrayed as stereotypes and fierce fighters, almost non human, just as the satanic movie producers portray most Germans as cold hearted nazis and fanatic racists. Where do Hollywood portrait the German nation as a warm loving Christian nation, with God fearing people, such as Martin Luther, who gave us the Protestant movement?
Remember, the tyranny of the Roman Empire II, aka the Vatican, both a political and a false church, aka the 4th Beast (book of Daniel & book of Revelation) is to deceive and conquer nations and people. The means are many and the methods are ruthless.
The background music in the movie Hacksaw Ridge is seductive all along, works like magic and seduces your feelings without you even noticing it.
Although they try to make the war scenes realistic, but they over do it to that extent it’s actually unrealistic. Yes it’s a war movie, a Hollywood version filled with stunt effects.
I would have hoped the movie made you reflect what is morally right and wrong, and that there is a price to stand up for your values exemplified by Christ Himself. To an extent it does that, showing the historical figure of Desmond T Doss, who stands up for his christian morals and ethics, but does most viewers regards us Christians as stubborn or fanatics? Or do they think he is brave and courageous, just another American war hero? And do many of us realize, having a clean conscience is truly a price worth fighting for?
We have had two World Wars and this true life story had the opportunity to make it clear once and for all, that wars means suffering and zero winners. The only winners are the Elite who run this world, together with their evil Prince, the fallen ones, pushing their satanic agenda.
I also believe the beginning doesn’t connect with the end of the movie. It’s like two parts who don’t relate to each other.
The aftertaste is bitter, due to the war scenes. This is not a movie if you want to have your Spirit uplifted.
Is it worth watching? For worldly entertainment yes, and to kill off 2 hours of your day, but this is not a christian movie or something for Christians.
Better then to read the testimony of Desmond T Doss than to watch the Holy wood (magic wand) version.
Does the movie make the viewer believe in a God and does it show who God is? No.
Does it draw people closer to Jesus? No.
Does it explain the Good News – the Gospel? No.
Or does it cement what most non-Christians already believe, that it’s being a good person and doing good things (being a hero and earning a worldly reputation) that is pleasing to God? Yes, and that is a false gospel coming out from the Harlot sitting on seven hills, deceiving many, through its subsidiary branches, which Hollywood is one of.
Exodus 20:13 (KJV) 13 “Thou shalt not kill.”
Matthew 26:52 (KJV)
“Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.”
Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places].”
