Visual presentation of the bad & the good news

In this video I will share with you…
the story of the Bible in 10 minutes.
I will use cards that we have printed with friends…
to make things more visual.
Imagine that we are playing a game of chess together,
those are my pieces…
and these are yours.
I will make the first move, now it’s your turn to move.
Imagine now that I have the perfect strategy…
to finish the game and do checkmate.
I will do this, then this…
and this…
You would probably say to me:
“Come on! That’s not fair”
Why? Because there are rules!
Everybody knows that we wait our turn to play.
I move, you move…
With God it’s the same, God made his first move.
He created the world. He create each one of us unique.
And when it was our turn to move…
the move we made was that…
we disobeyed God. We have sinned.
God saw this move He saw that it was not a good move,
but He said now it’s my turn to play,
I will also make my move.
I will send my son Jesus to pay the price of their sins.
Today there are people that are waiting their whole life…
saying: “If God exists He should show himself to me”.
But what they don’t understand…
is that God has already made his move.
Jesus said on the cross: “It Is Finished”.
Now it’s your turn to move.
This move is: repentance.
And at the moment we repent…
God will come and give us a new heart.
And at the moment we get baptised in water…
He will come and set us free from sin.
And when we ask for the Holy Spirit…
He will come right away.
God is waiting for us to make that move.
He wants to do checkmate, He wants to finish the game,
He wants to set us free and give us a new life.
But He is waiting for us to move.
So now I will explain a little bit more about how everything started…
In the beginning…
God…
created heaven and earth…
and created a beautiful garden.
In that garden…
there were two special trees:
The tree of eternal life…
and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
After that, God created Adam and Eve.
And….
Adam and Eve had a perfect relationship with God.
They walked together with God in the garden of Eden.
And it was perfect. There were no wars…
or hatred or violence like we see in the world today.
God said to man: ‘You can enjoy…
everything in the garden,
everything that I created for you,
but there is one thing you are not allowed to do…
that is to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.’
But many people ask: ‘Why did God place this tree in the garden?’
If it wasn’t there, it would make it easier, right..?
In fact, God wanted to leave us the choice because He loves us,
He decided to give us the freedom to obey Him,
but also the freedom to disobey Him…
the freedom to…
leave His presence.
And you know the story…
Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit.
At that moment…
sin came into humanity…
and man became closed off from God.
Adam and Eve had kids, they multiplied…
but their kids killed each other.
And throughout the generations, things got worse and worse…
there was jealousy, hatred, violence,
murder and war.
And finally we live in the world today,
we only need to turn on the TV to see how much the world is suffering.
And there are people that say to themselves:
I cannot believe in a God that allows this suffering and death.
But the bible is very clear about this and has warned us about it.
It’s because of all this suffering…
is our disobedience towards God.
We have become closed to God,
we are deprived of His glory…
and that is because sin entered into the world.
Nevertheless, there are a lot of people that are blind…
and are not aware of this.
They can tend to compare themselves with others and say:
”Yes, it is true that I lied, but…
look at this person, he has stolen something.”
And the one that has stolen something will say: ”Yes it is true, but…
that person cheated on his wife.”
And this person will say: ”Yes it is true, but that person has killed someone.”
And it is easy to find someone that is worse than us,
we will always find someone that has done worse.
but the problem is that we use…
a human standard.
The only standard that counts…
is this one,
the standard of God.
He is perfect…
He is holy and righteous.
The Bible says: ”You shall not kill”,
but Jesus said: ”When you hate someone in your heart…
you have killed this person in your heart.
The Bible says:
”You shall not have sex outside of mariage”,
but Jesus said:
”When you look with lust at someone…
you have committed adultery in your heart.”
So even without committing the act,
it is enough to be in front of your computer…
looking at pornography.
And it is like you have committed adultery…
in your heart.
Imagine that you will find yourself
in front of a judge…
for missing a red light.
You could not say:
“Your honour, my all life I’ve only passed green lights”.
Of course he doesn’t care.
If you are in front of that judge it’s because…
you are guilty of crossing that red light.
The Bible is also very clear:
If we have only stumbled on only one of those commandments,
it’s like we have broken them all.
God could have put us all in hell…
and still be a just and righteous God.
But he had a other plan,
He decided to make his move.
Remember the chess game.
He sent his son Jesus…
to pay the price of our sins.
So Jesus was born…
100% man 100% God.
And He grow up.
He was the only one to never sin once.
When He was 30 years old,
He was baptized in water by full immersion.
And when He came out of the water…
He received the Holy Spirit.
At that moment He went among the people…
and He healed the sick,
He casted out demons,
He raised the dead…
and He said: repent, the Kingdom of God is near.
3 years later…
the only one that never sinned once…
was the one that paid the highest price.
He was tortured and put on that cross.
He died,
He was buried,
and three days later,
because He was the only one that had never sinned…
death could not hold Him.
He rose from the dead.
He gathered his disciples and said to them:
”Friends, like the Father sent me, now I send you…
to do the same.”
He said to them: ”Wait here, I will send you a Helper,
the Holy Spirit.”
And Jesus returned to the right hand of the Father.
God did his move,
He sent His son Jesus
so that through Him we can be reconciled with God.
Now it is our turn to move,
so which move do we need to make?
What is the first step we need to make towards God?
The first step is repentance…
that is to realise…
that we have sinned against a holy and righteous God.
It’s not only to ask forgiveness and regret what we have done…
it starts with that,
but it is to make a decision for your life,
to turn away…
from your old life…
and to turn towards God.
It is like a turn of 180 degrees…
Where we decide to give Him our life.
And at that moment…
God takes our heart of stone…
and gives us a heart of flesh.
So God gives us a new heart,
a new conscience.
But it is not enough, we cannot stop there.
We have still our old, dead body…
that is impregnated with sin.
God says that the one who sins…
becomes a slave to sin.
So even with a new heart we want to do good…
according to God.
And we try to do it with all our strenght…
and we will fall back in the same sins again and again.
And that is where…
baptism comes in.
We need to bury this dead body.
Paul speaks about this…
in Romans 6:
We die with Christ…
when we get bapised in water…
and we rise with Him.
At that moment we have washed away our sins…
we are open to God again.
Just like Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden.
Baptism is not just a few drops on the head of a baby,
because a baby has no conscience of sin…
a baby cannot repent.
But it is like we read in the Bible…
where we see that every baptism took place when people repented…
and realised that they sinned against God.
And then they got baptised.
Now we are dead to our old sinful body…
and we are risen with Him.
Sin has no grip on us anymore.
We are free.
Like Jesus said in that time…
that He will send His Holy Spirit to live in us…
so also today, when we pray…
and ask for the Holy Spirit…
He will come…
and baptize us with the Holy Spirit.
And now we have all the equipment…
to follow the example of Jesus.
And that is what He called us to do…
Like Him, we go to the people…
we heal the sick,
we cast out demons…
and we share the gospel…
as I am sharing with you now.
And other people…
will also come and take this decision…
to turn towards God,
to start a new life,
to be baptized…
and to receive the Holy Spirit.
The end of this story is that one day…
Jesus will come back.
We don’t know when exactly,
but this time He will come to judge the world.
That means that we all have some years…
to make a decision about our life.
We are completely free…
to live for ourselves…
and try to live the best life we can.
Or to give our whole life to God and to follow Him
and to be completely born again.
When Jesus comes back…
He will separate those who belong to Him,
those who have decided to give their lives to Him…
and that ran the race until the end…
from those who have decided to stay closed off from Him.
And those who have given their life…
and followed Him,
will have access…
to the tree of life.
And will live forever.
Remember that God already made his move,
He sent his son Jesus…
so that you can be reconciled with Him…
and that He is the one that paid the price of your sins.
Now it is your time to move…
